Mark - Teaching in Kent

I have always been interested in the potential for personal and spiritual development. I first started exploring meditation in my early teens back in the 80's and was fascinated by the benefits and the experiences I had. I have since gained thorough experience of self exploratory meditation techniques including breath, affirmation, visualization, crystal, mandala, mantra, and Kundalini meditation. Since the 90's I have also been practicing the more spiritually focused Pure Energy Meditation.

I have been guiding individuals and running courses since the 90's and I teach with a very practical, experience-based approach. My focus is to teach practical techniques and provide down to earth advice that allows you to thoroughly enjoy your meditation and also have the opportunity to benefit and grow from it. I believe in putting my money where my mouth is and I meditate for about 2 hours a day and regularly enjoy longer meditates too.

Mark's Background

Mark is a successful professional photographer and director of a media company, the photo's you see on the right hand side of this site are a few of his pictures. Teaching comes naturally to Mark and over the past decade he has taken the time to refine and extend his teaching skills and has trained with some of the best communicators in the fields of life coaching, personal development, therapy, and most importantly Meditation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from the University of Manchester.

When I started meditating I had a very scientific perspective. I wanted to prove to myself beyond doubt that there was more to life and a purpose. I guess this is reflected in the way I teach. I am not interested in convincing people that they should believe one thing or another, rather I give them the advice and practical assistance to explore their own meditation and make thier own realisations, and my focus is always on how to best assist the person or group I am working with.

Because of my training in various forms of self help and therapy I am often asked "how does Hypnosis and Therapy support Meditation?" and it's a great question. People get the most from meditation when they really relax and reduce the chatter in their heads. Stresses and anxiety from modern living can sometimes get in the way of this natural process and so I teach people how they can use various techniques from NLP and hypnosis to help them relax quickly, so they can start getting even more benefits from their meditation.

Another question I get asked is "what is the difference between 'NLP, Hypnosis & Therapy' and Meditation?" and the answer is really simple. NLP, hypnisis, therapy etc are getting help from someone else to rearrange and reorganise your personality and behaviours to improve your quality of life. Meditation is empowering yourself to achieve the same in a more accelerated and permanent way and, in the case of pure energy meditation, to also expand your awareness beyond the limits of your personality and imagination to realise your true nature.
